Required Qualifications

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join the team of a prestigious restaurant in the Dedham area, just outside of Colchester.

Awarded with 3 AA Rosettes, this venue is well-loved and has a great reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu development, ensuring creativity and innovation while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Oversee health, hygiene, and safety standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by maintaining food costs and hitting targets.
  • Actively participate in the training and development of kitchen staff, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Embrace the challenge of a fast-paced environment, particularly during the busy summer season and the recent opening of another venue.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior kitchen role.
  • Ideally, possess multi-Rosette recognition for culinary excellence.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including inventory management and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring junior staff.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and creativity.
  • A genuine love for food and a desire for longevity, growth, and development within the team.
